Every year we look forward to supporting the Richland Fire Departement's Operation Warm program.
Operation Warm is a national program that teams up with local fire departments to provide low-income students with brand new coats for the winter.
Students are sent home with a letter requesting their coat size from their parents. Then coats are ordered through Operation Warm with funds donated by the community. When the coats arrive, volunteers and supporters like us help fit the coats to the kids!
The best part is the kids get to pick their favorite color for their coat and write their name on a special tag on the inside of the coat, and all the coats are made here in the U.S.
Our hope is by providing kids with a brand new coat of their very own, they get to feel special and spoiled for the day- and warm!
